I’m playing Shaft in the upcoming remake 🙂
Ian Flemming was MI-6, so James Bond has always been somewhat of a psyop. A black Bond makes sense in that regard. I’ll skip.
Daniel Craig is ‘poised to return’ as James Bond

Daniel Craig is reportedly convinced to make his fifth appearance as James Bond following talks with franchise producer Barbara Broccoli, reported Daily Mail.
According to reports, Craig was asked to star in the film after producers decided that Tom Hiddleston was “too smug and not tough enough” for the role.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
I like him very much but James Bond is WHITE.
Is Meryl Streep going to play Mammy in a GWTW remake?
This is nuts.
“I love snakes! Just love ’em!”
Only problem with Elba as Bond is he’s about 3 times as good an actor as any script they’ve made for Bond. It would be a complete waste of his talents, but he would get some fat cash.
A black James Bond makes as much sense as casting Woody Allen as Geronimo.
Craig is the best Bond ever.
I know, they should start with a remake of Goldfinger and Katlin Jenner can play Pussy Galore.
The majority of the population of Great Britain of african descent. Of cours Bond is black. /s
It’s time to retire Bond, he’s in his 90s!
After all according to the novels he’s a WWII vet.
I’m about to throw up.
Funny, From Russia With Love is playing on my TV at the moment.
They will eventually make James Bond..Jamie Bond.
I think Daniel Craig did the best Bond movies and the last one he did – well, I figured they could just close down the whole thing after that performance.

Aren’t they just fabulous?!
Sean Connery is the only 007.
I wouldn’t mind seeing that Night Manager guy as James Bond….He might do a good job.
I think he probably can’t get the gig because of all that Taylor Swift stuff
They’ve been pushing for a Black Bond since Brosnan’s days.
Colin Salmon was the go-to guy since he was in three of the movies and was being touted as the next one.
Then it didn’t happen.
Now Idris Elba is the guy they’re pushing for and have been for some time.
I’m pretty sure Barbara Broccoli has been unimpressed by the push for “diversity”.
Folks, it’s a movie…!
A movie that has been done about a dozen times….with several actors
A black James Bond would give the franchise a needed refreshing….
All I care is can he play the role better than Timothy Hutton or Pierce Bronson ?
Which would not be hard to do…
Well my Mafia movies are safe.
Can’t get away with playing J Gotti or Sammy the Bull or Lucky Luciano 🙂
They TRY to make wannabe Godfather-like movies, like that TRASH tv show Empire. Couldn’t stomach one episode.
Elba is a very good actor, but the Bond character is white. Keep the PC crap out of this. Next we’ll see a remake of Peanuts with a lead character named Carlitos Marron (Charlie Brown in Spanish).
Anyone know how the black 24 is doing on Fox?
To: Ciaphas Cain
Shouldn’t this guy be middle aged or at least have it say somewhere ‘I am named after my grandfather!’
“A black James Bond makes as much sense as casting Woody Allen as Geronimo.”
You win a copy of the Internet.
That’s ok. Andy Garcia’s character in The Godfather III was Aborted in the book.
Still haven’t quite figured out how that one worked.
Idris Elba is a fantastic actor and would do a great “bond-like” character.
I don’t want to see him play Bond and it would alter the character from the original novels…however if the writers didn’t take the opportunity to dismantle the franchise completely from the novels, I think he would do a great job.
That being said…. I really did not want to see the franchise altered that much.
Hand this is coming from a man who has almost zero interest in pop culture so the fact that I know he’s a great actor means he’s done some incredible stuff.
To: Ammo Republic 15
lol..he means Timothy Dalton
I want to see a Chinese actor do the lead in a remake of Shake Zulu!
Joseph Fiennes, a white man, was hired to play Michael Jackson just last January. That is, until lots of black actors began having fits about the prospect of a white guy playing what was at one time a black man. Of course ‘daughter’ Paris Jackson put her two cents in as well. She didn’t like it. The idea was quickly and quietly dropped.
They should start the series all over again from Dr. No.
44 is too old for a first time Bond Film. He will be 50 by the time his second would be made. I would vote for some one more in their early 30’s
Didn’t slow up Barack Obama any.
To: Born to Conserve
Id have Connerys babie and im a dude
Those qualities didn’t stop Pierce Brosnan. 🙂
To: Born to Conserve
To: Fightin Whitey
Except no substitutes!
“I like him very much but James Bond is WHITE”
James Bond is half-Scottish and half-Swiss, so I don’t know how they would pull that off.
That being said, I think Elba could pull off the role, but the problem is reconciling it with Ian Fleming’s bio of Bond.
Accept no substitutes!
It was actually Bond’s nephew. I think Bond himself showed up in a few episodes of the TV series.
