The National Sheriffs’ Association sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley announcing its endorsement of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
“We write today on behalf of the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) and the more than 3,000 sheriffs nationwide in support of Judge Neil M. Gorsuch to be the next Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court,” NSA Executive Director Jonathan Thompson and NSA President Greg Champagne wrote.
The NSA said its executive committee voted unanimously to support of the Tenth Circuit Court judge.
“Judge Gorsuch has a history as a fair and honorable jurist and he would be an asset to our nation’s highest court,” the letter said.
The sheriffs’ group called Gorsuch an “independent thinker,” whose “demeanor, intellect, and integrity remain consistent and above reproach.”
