Omarosa Manigault, director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison, will have her wedding and reception at the Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.
Manigault was set to marry her fiance, Pastor John Allen Newman, at a church in Jacksonville, Fla., on March 25. She changed the venue after receiving death threats, presumably related to her affiliation with the GOP president.
Now the senior staffer and her fiance will say “I do” at Trump’s luxury hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, which was remodeled from the former Old Post Office Pavilion it had been for decades, according to a report in Politico published Friday evening.
Unfortunately for Manigault, most of the senior White House officials will not be abe to attend the festivities. Trump is staying at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., for the weekend and hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife.
While the wedding ceremony will be private, TLC will broadcast a “Say Yes to the Dress” episode on Saturday night that featured Manigault’s visit to the bridal salon.
According to recently disclosed personal finance documents, Manigault was compensated with “a wedding package which included a wedding dress, custom veil, and accessories with an estimated value of $25,000 in exchange for appearance” on the show.
Manigault’s claim to fame dates back to the first season of President Trump’s NBC TV show “The Apprentice.” Following the show, she remained friends with Trump before being hired by his campaign, transition team and administration.
