President Trump said Monday that Democrats would look to obstruct his plan to lower taxes for everyone, even in the face of experts who say it’s time for a tax cut.
“The Democrats only want to increase taxes and obstruct. That’s all they are good at!” Trump tweeted Monday morning. “Art Laffer just said that he doesn’t know how a Democrat could vote against the big tax cut/reform bill and live with themselves! @FoxNews.”

Trump and Republican leaders in Congress are set to unveil a major tax reform bill that would significantly slash corporate taxes.
A new White House study found Trump’s goal of decreasing the corporate tax rate would increase the average family’s income between $4,000 and $9,000 each year.
Democrats have overwhelmingly complained the proposal would increase taxes on the middle class and lower them for the wealthy.
Last week, Speaker Paul Ryan said he would keep House members in Washington through Christmas if it meant passing tax reform. He also said Trump’s recent tax speech at a truck company in Pennsylvania was “music to my ears.”
